Description

A hymn for worship in our homes

Lyrics

O God to whom all praise is due,
Our family bows to worship You;
We trust in Jesus' work alone
To come before Your holy throne.
Come, Holy Spirit, now subdue
All that distracts our hearts from You;
Endear us to our glorious King
While now we read, and pray, and sing!

Tune: HE LEADETH ME, William B. Bradbury (1864)

thank God for your site. It was recommended to me by a friend. For years I have been saying that we should be selective of our hymns lest we would be singing childish songs at best and heresies ultimately! I am a firm believer that our worship should me as sacred as we deem sacred to be the Holy Bible! If we regard the Bible as Holy and then sing songs that are doctrinally terrible, such as "There is a NEW name written down in Glory", as if God was caught by surprise and had to "add" your name to the saved, a blunt affront to the doctrine of Election and Predestination, then we are un-preaching and un-teaching what we preach and teach about God's Sovereign Grace. We MUST be selective of our singing; we must restore the missing link between singing biblical verses in contemporary worship and the hymns that God inspired past heroes of faith to write. Your site provides that missing link and for that I praise God!
