The Lord Is Wise

Description

A hymn on the omniscience and wisdom of God from the series of hymns titled "The Lord Is"

Lyrics

The Lord is wise and knows all things—the present, past, and future.
Each plan He forms is good and right; He needs no guide or teacher.
His eyes roam to and fro
And watch the earth below;
From heaven's glorious height
No deed escapes His sight.
O tremble at His wisdom.

The Lord has made His wisdom known in Jesus' crucifixion
And shut the mouth of earthly pride at Jesus' resurrection.
According to His plan,
God sent the Son of Man
To die for those in sin
That they might boast in Him
And glory in His wisdom.

The Lord will send the Counselor to lead us into wisdom
By teaching us of Jesus Christ—His glory and His kingdom.
He opens foolish eyes
And makes His people wise
Through His inspired Word
Where Wisdom's voice is heard.
Come seek His perfect wisdom.
