All Praise to Jesus

Description

The mystery of the incarnation is that God Himself, in the person of the eternal Son, left His eternal home and humbled himself, trading his kingly majesty for a the life of a poor and humble servant. What could have motivated Jesus to make such an exchange? 1 John 1:9-10 tells us - because He loved us: "In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins." Meditating on what God has done to redeem us from our sins should lead to lips and lives full of praise. Jesus is worthy of our endless praises because He atoned for our sins, gives us His righteousness, and has absorbed the wrath of God for us. Since He has cleansed us (expiation) and freed us (emancipation) let us unite in heart and voice and sing "All praise to Jesus."

Lyrics

Why would you leave Your majesty in mystery
To free my soul from evil's hold to Your control?
You gave Your life, the highest price in sacrifice;
Now my debts are paid in full.

Chorus:
(All) praise to Jesus, all praise to Jesus
For He alone came to atone for us.
All praise to Jesus, the Lamb, our righteousness;
Wrath is gone and love has won the day
So we will sing

You took my place, in saving grace, my sin to taste
To expiate, propitiate, emancipate;
Your life and death on my behalf has banished wrath
Now Your love is all I know.

Bridge:
It is finished, It is finished,
Love has won the day.
